Call for Nominations | Black Engineer of The Year Awards (BEYA)

BDPA Members:

This is a reminder that nominations for the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) are now being accepted.  This is our best opportunity to identify BDPA Members such as Dr. Jesse Bemley, Rod Edwards, Thurman Jones, Lou Shack, Ed Yeldell, and other Systems Engineers and Software Engineers supporting our community through various programs to be recognized on the widest national "STEM" stage, at the 2009 BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference to be held next February 19 - 22nd in Baltimore, Maryland (www.beya.org).  

The National BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference is in its 23rd year. BEYA is the ideal venue for corporate, government, and education organizations and leaders interested in the enhancement of their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) minority diversity strategy. It is also the perfect environment for the development of their minority STEM personnel and pipeline.  BEYA STEM has become the annual gathering place for many of America's brightest STEM minds along with top industry, government, and education leaders that include executives, professionals, and outstanding minority STEM undergraduate and graduate students. 

Nominations are now being accepted for:

Modern Day Technology Leaders to be recognized on Friday February 20th at the Technology Luncheon.  (Only require nomination form, photo and bio.)
Deadline for nominations October 1st

Black Engineer of the Year "category" winners to be recognized on Saturday February 21st, 2009.
Deadline for nominations August 31st

Attached, please find the necessary nomination forms with a "How To" guide to assist in preparing your packages for nominees.  Please contact Mr. Butler's office below to discuss the best category for your nominees. 

Deserving BDPA Members can be nominated for both categories.
